Ve Raj is a family run Indian restaurant with a difference. It opened in December 2005 and within 4 months had won the Journals restaurant of the month (April 2006); it later won restaurant of the year in 2006 and 2007.
This critically acclaimed restaurant soon became a firm favourite with the discerning diner. The reasons are quite simple; fusion Indian cuisine at its best and a variety of new and tantalising dishes.
After leaving your car in the ample, well lit, secure car park, you will enter into the restaurants bar area, which, like the restaurant, is a calm oasis of style and tranquility.
Once you have chosen your meal, you will be shown to your table where you will find damask table cloths and napkins. It quickly becomes apparent that Ve Raj aims to provide the very best in comtemporary Indian cuisine.
The Sunday mega buffet served between 3pm and 10pm is legendary; four starters and four main courses to choose from, all served with naan breads and rice. There is also a private function room available to cater for large parties, Weddings and other events.
For Indian cuisine with a twist, come to Ve Raj.

CUSTOMERS at an East Yorkshire restaurant have helped raise £2,000 for local charities.
The owner of the Ve Raj restaurant in Shiptonthorpe, Syed Miah, is seen presenting £1,000 cheques to Nikki Denton, left, of Hearing Dogs For Deaf People and Rachel Reed, from Macmillan Cancer Support.
Mr Miah said that his reason for donating the money to Macmillan was that he had previously lost family due to cancer and so it was a cause he felt strongly about.
He also paid a visit to the nearby Hearing Dogs For Deaf People and had been fascinated by what they were doing.
Customers at Mr Miah’s Indian restaurant and local businesses had made contributions to a raffle and auction that he had run at the restaurant.
